HOD’s Message: The sole aim of Training & Placement Cell is to make GGSCET the center of excellence in the region and nodal centre for the placement activities in this part of the country and beyond. The advancement of technology has shrunk the world and revolutionized our lives. At the same time it has broadened the scope and redefined trends in engineering, management and computer applications. In the present era of globalization the MNC’s are ruling the market. There is buoyancy in the job market of IT sector, Communication and various streams of Management. At GGSCET, We place special emphasis to create an environment highly conducive for building solid foundation of knowledge, communication skills, soft skills, personality development, self discipline and enhancement of creativity through motivation and drive, which helps to produce professionals well trained for the rigors of professional and social life. The Training and Placement Cell acts as a bridge between the Industry and Institutions to take up Industrial training, Industrial visits, organizing seminars and other activities. Placement brochures are sent to the reputed Industries & Organizations. Students are actively involved in these activities. The Training and Placement Cell organized guest lectures from Industries because no professional education is complete without adequate input from the Industry. Students have found GGSCET to be an effective launching platform. The skills of our students are appreciated at various campus drives and we have achieved excellent placements. Our students have gained placements to some of the world’s best companies. Many students are doing well in higher studies at different foreign universities. One major element of our academic activity is industry exposure for the students of all branches as per the A.I.C.T.E format for six weeks. This helps the students to relate the contents of text book to practical world.
This also encourages them to effectively apply their knowledge in engineering, management and computer applications. GGSCET is adorned with distinguished faculty members, visiting faculty and dignitaries from various fields to provide individual guidance and counseling through seminars and workshops. They generate awareness in students regarding future career options available to them. Their guidelines and vision mould students to international standards.
About the Department of Training & Placements:
The Training and Placement Cell acts as an interface between the students at GGSCET and the industry, and enables the students to make better and more informed career choices. The placement cell provides guidance and assistance to students by inviting officers from industry/ academia to share their knowledge and experience with students through guest lectures, workshops, and seminars, and helps those securing suitable positions. The Placement Cell publishes the Placement Brochure, and organizes summer and final placements. GGSCET graduates have been well placed in leading private/ public sector organizations. This cell gives career counseling to students, arranges training programmes and facilitated job placements. The Training & Placement Cell firmly believes in 'Industry-Institute Interaction'. In order to accomplish 'Industry-Institute Interaction', it organizes technical talks and national seminars to provide a platform for the budding engineers to interact with professionals from various industries. It encourages visits to the industries by the college students. It arranges for industrial problems to be worked on by students as part of their projects. It also takes suggestions from members of industry regarding designing/changing of curriculum. The college has signed MOUs with many industrial organizations and industrial chambers. Technical paper presentation contests are held in collaboration with industries to discuss new developments and trends.
